I just got my Vonage Internet phone system today. The shipping box has a Cisco
VoIP gateway, a Netgear home router (I have a home router, but I’ll carry this
one on trips with the phone) and a Radio Shack category 5 Ethernet cable.
Refusing to read anything, I plugged the Cisco box into my existing wired
network and plugged a spare phone in to the Cisco box. I had a dial tone! I
called home, and it worked fine. Talk about an easy setup!
When talking over the phone to someone in the same room, you notice a slight
delay via the phone. However, the sound is good, and I’m going to be trying
this phone out more and more.
